Hair by Laura

I contacted Laura after my old hairdresser could no longer do my hair. I had 24” Itip hair extensions in which I’ve had for numerous years. I needed to find a new hair dresser as my maintenance appointment was looming. she communicated very well and got me booked for a patch test and also for my colour and maintenance. When I arrived for my appointment Laura came a few minutes after me, she had what looked almost like a baby wrapped in a towel. I didn’t rush straight in as I thought she’d want a minute to set herself up before I arrived (I was a little late due to traffic but she arrived after me) When I went in Laura was stressing and said she’d took her own hair out the night before and needed to sort it as she had an appointment for her extensions to be fitted at 1pm. She insisted she had plenty of time to do my hair and that it would all be fine. As I sat in the chair and she started to remove my hair she started to panic about her own hair. She said I would need to help her by untangling her extensions and then proceeded to dump a wet towel filled with her hair on my knee. I am not a hairdresser and have never done anything like this so I was a little took back. I felt super awkward and didn’t know what to do so I just did what she asked. Then she hands me a hair dryer and asks me to start drying her hair all the time she’s pulling at my head and I’m leant over in the chair trying to reach her hair. It was so stressful and awkward I honestly didn’t know what to say. She was not focused on my hair at all and was more worried about her own. At one point she caught her hair and it fell to the floor she was sat on her knees in complete panic trying to scoop it up, again I’m just totally taken back I didn’t know what to do. Laura did get my hair finished and in all honesty it looked really nice. The colour was slightly lighter than I’m used to but it was ok. As I was leaving I’d got half way down the street and one of my extensions fell out. Strange, I usually lose only one of two over 8 weeks and certainly not on the same day. So I get home and as you do I start looking at my hair and running my fingers through it and it’s literally falling out bit by bit. The beads were still attached and it was literally pulling my hair out from the root. As the day went on I was getting very uncomfortable, my head felt really sore and like my hair was pulling. It was awful and in all the time I’ve had extensions I’d never experienced anything like this. I messaged Laura to say I was losing my hair but didn’t get a response straight away. By the time she replied I’d lost 25 extensions. This was only the next day. My head was so sore to the point I wanted to cut them out. I was getting so stressed I contacted another hair dresser I sent her pictures and she arranged to see me on the Monday. Laura got back to me and said she would do a refit for me but by this time I’d lost over 30 and didn’t want her to touch my head again. I had them fitted on the Friday and these pictures were taken on the Monday by a different hairdresser. It was a complete mess. My hair was over directed into beads so this was why I was in pain and felt like my hair was pulling constantly and the extensions were literally hanging on by a thread. I thought long and hard about leaving this review as I felt bad but I went to Laura after seeing all her awards, pictures and photos. I assumed she knew what she was doing and clearly she doesn’t. Laura did refund me the cost of my fitting but still, I had to take extra time off work to have my hair sorted and also the absolute stress and worry of it all. I had a huge conference for work which she knew about and the thought of my hair falling out whilst being there was awful. I would not recommend Laura and I am sharing this because it caused me so much stress and I’d hate for anyone else to go through this. I spend a lot of money to have my hair done and she’s completely ruined it. I’ve lost so much of my own hair as you can see from the images it wasn’t just the extensions coming out it was my own hair too.

I do not recommend this hairdresser. I had keratin done, after keratin my hair supposed to be shiny and straight. But my hair was frizzy. I know when a proper keratin is applied, the smell is terrible, but here there was no smell. It was like applying a hair mask. I definitely do not recommend anyone to go to such a SPECIALIST. (My hair looked bad right after getting a keratin treatment. Don't talk nonsense, I got my hair keratin done at another salon, and it smells pungent. You're simply a bad hair specialist, you're not doing your job. I paid £60 for keratin, and I looked terrible after the keratin treatment. You have to admit that you're to blame.)

I came in with a big colour correction job for Laura for having my roots bleached around my extensions by another stylist, she was confident and explained the whole process to me as she went and somehow worked her miracle magic on my hair. Absolutely over the moon with the outcome and I wouldn’t let anyone bleach my hair now! Kind and friendly vibes throughout every appointment and I love the 1-1 experience in the salon. Very warm and welcoming and I can’t thank and recommend you enough! xx
