Design a Head

I attended a hair consultation today (Saturday at 12:45) and it was a complete waste of my time. On arrival, the receptionist/hairdresser immediately told me I had “missed an appointment” a year ago and insisted I had to pay half of it before anything else could proceed. I explained that, to my knowledge, I had called to cancel at the time, but instead of discussing this calmly or checking their records properly, she began arguing with me in a rude and confrontational manner. This was handled extremely unprofessionally. Being accused and pressured over an alleged missed appointment from a year ago, before even starting a consultation, is unacceptable customer service. No attempt was made to resolve the issue respectfully or acknowledge that mistakes can happen. I left feeling angry, disrespected, and having completely wasted my time. Rude staff, poor communication, and zero client care. I will not be returning and would not recommend this salon to anyone.

I had my haircut today at Design a Head and was looked after by Lilia. She was absolutely lovely very friendly, professional, and really listened to what I wanted. She made sure I was happy with everything and took her time to make it perfect. I’m really pleased with the result and felt very comfortable throughout. Thank you, Lilia, for such a great experience . I’ll definitely be back!

I’ve seen Natalie @ T Wells a handful of times now after being recommended Design A Head - I really cannot recommend her enough. She is kind, patient and professional. As someone who’s had a bit of Hair Salon Trauma in the past, it takes a lot for me to trust and Nat has proven to me that there are stylists who really care and listen. She’s a talented colourist who prioritises the health of your hair and manages your expectations with her expertise. You feel so safe in her chair! If you’re looking for something a bit different, Nat definitely thrives being creative. She’s got such a great eye and loves doing Hair-Up! Perfect for proms, awards evenings, weddings and any special occasion. Plus, it won’t break the bank! Nothing good comes cheap but I’ve tried and tested a few local salons and Nat is by far my favourite. She performed a miracle with my hair today - Thank you Natalie!
